Greg Marano, founder and owner of The Syracuse Pen, has studied writing and English literature in the United States and Great Britain, with short fiction pieces published in both countries. His international and award-winning domestic journalism has appeared in USA Today and other Gannett newspapers, he has been featured on Fatherly.com, and short opinion pieces have appeared in The Atlantic and The New York Times.
He is also the chief writer for The Man I Prefer to Be, a collaborative blog about the day-to-day decisions and habits that help you become the person you’ve always wanted to be.
Mr. Marano holds a master’s degree in education from Marist College, and is a member of the National Résumé Writers’ Association.
He lives outside Syracuse, N.Y., with his wife, son, and two dogs.
